Rolling Along!

Not to use the "getting ready" term again, but we are slowly getting organized.  Admittedly, this is requiring a checklist of sorts.  As soon as you get something checked off the list, it makes you think of something else that we hadn't remembered.  No panic yet, just trying to avoid any last minute chaos!

The one thing that continues to surprise us is the ongoing cold weather and snow.  It happened again this week and it is not melting the way a March snow typically does.  The good news is that it offered some really nice x-country skiing this weekend.

On the other hand, the goldfish are awake and swimming.....and the ice is fading fast

and Tessa has a bout of spring fever!

Time to get ready!

With the last blast of winter refusing to let go, we are recognizing that we will be leaving in a month!  Since finding out about our trip around Thanksgiving the prospect of heading to Rome seemed far off......on the other side of winter. Well, that's where we are!

Starting to pack and get organized.......and checking on drawing and painting supplies.  Yesterday we went to AAA in Framingham and I got a renewal on my International Driver's License. We have also set up a new Blog for the trip.......Post #1 today!

First, I got a good start on some of our early seed planting.  One batch went in this week, and another will be started in about two weeks.  We are hoping that our 'supportive family' will want to water while we are gone!  Risky business........but some of Addie and Grady's seeds are in there!

While the seeds are germinating, the scene outside the 'greenhut' does not encourage spring fever.

This week's snowfall.......22".........was actually quite beautiful.  It's just a shame that so many branches came down.
