After breakfast we just goofed off on the terrace and tried to catch up on the blog. The morning flew by and before we knew it, lunch time was upon us. We went down to the Bar Terrazzo around 1:00 for a simple club sandwich. Even split between us, we could not finish it!
We did a little more exploring and then decided to head down to the pool and the beach to see if the water was warm enough to swim in. The afternoon turned out to be beautiful, and while the water was cool, it was very refreshing. The pool was heated......while the beach was a bit chilly. As you can see from the photos, "beach" is really not an accurate term. The setting is truly dramatic, but the feat of swimming is accomplished by walking out on decks that traverse the rocky coast. It was a lot of fun, but the waves were a bit stronger than anticipated! You did not want to stray too far from a ladder!
After our swim, Andrea treated me to a spa treatment. I opted for a facial. First, because I had never had one before. Second, because I shaved off my mustache today and my face was feeling a bit forlorn! For both reasons, it was an amazing experience. I literally came close to falling asleep on the table.
We decided we needed some energizing before we totally conked out........so checked with the front desk to get an idea for a short walking tour up and around the hillside. While the "hillside" aspect of this proved to be formidable, the views were great and we got some very nice photos.......and headed back to take a late afternoon nap!
Nothing like a little relaxation to chase away the jet lag! Add on a steaming hot bath in the monster bath tub.......followed by prosecco on the restaurant terrace......led us to an alternative course for dinner tonight. We decided to head back to our room and have room service on our terrace, which turned out to be a fantastic decision! What a wonderful and romantic evening!
This place is quite extraordinary.......totally unique!
